The Trail Volunteer Fund was established in 2007, and the first grant was made in early 2008. In 2008 the Fund made grants for 10 projects on 6 trails, including 3 scout projects. The trails included Allegheny River Trail, Butler-Freeport Trail, Montour Trail, and the Three Rivers, Youghiogheny River, and Allegheny Highlands segments of the Great Allegheny Passage.
